Reports differ on 2 October. National Herald and Groundxero report he was detained while covering the protest, after showing his press ID. Times Now and video by journalist Ahmed Khabeer show police trying to take him into custody and letting him go after a long confrontation. On 10 October he alleged that police were targeting journalists staying at Delhi's Park Hotel for detention.
